I recently bought an Apple TV 4K and I want to share with you my user experience with it. I will try also to compare the new Apple TV to other devices such as Amazon Fire TV Stick and Google Chromecast.

Let’s start by comparing prices :

Apple TV 4K  Google Chromecast  Amazon Fire TV Stick
 Price : 199€  Price : 39€  Price : 59,99€

Now let’s check the Pros and Cons of each device :

 Apple TV 4K  Pros  Cons
  •  4K HDR / Dolby Vision compatibility
  • Siri
  • AirPlay : an easy way for you or your guests to wirelessly share whatever’s on an iPhone, iPad, or Mac in TV screen
  • Control your smart home through Apple TV
  • Access to the App Store
  • Don’t require a mobile to work

  • Expensive
  • Works only within the Apple ecosystem
  Google Chromecast  Pros  Cons
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to use
  • Access to Google Play
  • Require a mobile
  • No 4K HDR compatibility
  • No remote
Amazon Fire TV Stick  Pros  Cons
  • Easy to use
  • Don’t require a mobile to work
  • YouTube app not available (recently removed on January the first)
  • No 4K HDR compatibility

If you have an iPhone or a Macbook then this is your product. The remote control uses Siri to get content. I also like that I can play my iTunes music, photos from iCloud and all that. More expensive than some of the other stuff out there but very friendly if you have other Apple products.

Comparing what we know about each streaming device reveals advantages and disadvantages. There isn’t a clear winner which, if you ask me, is the best outcome. It means there’s a variety of features for us, the users, to choose from.
